In keeping with Fayetteville’s great military tradition, the year-old Airborne and Special Operations Museum is a great place to visit. Conveniently located in downtown Fayetteville, it has already become the most visited place in North Carolina. Other attractions of the city include the Botanical Gardens, Cape Fear Museum, the Market House, Crown Coliseum, the Art Center, and Poe House among many others.

For those interested in the great outdoors, there’s the mountains a short drive from Fayetteville, which look gorgeous during fall when the leaves start changing colors, and some well known beaches which are just a couple of hours drive east from Fayetteville.

Fayetteville is right off Interstate 95, about an hour’s drive from the South Carolina border, and halfway between New York and Florida, which makes it an ideal overnight rest spot for those driving from the north on their way to Florida to get away from the winter cold.
